AAIC, GRAFTED IN MINISTRY PROVIDE NOURISHMENT AND SPIRITUAL GUIDANCE THROUGH FEEDING PROGRAM

With the objective of improving the health of children and lead them to grow in spiritual knowledge by teaching them Christian values, 50 children aged 4 to 10 years old, were nourished with food for the body as well as food for the soul, through a feeding program held at Grafted in Ministry, Gawad Kalinga Street, Barangay Balasing, Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

Organized by Aiden & Alec International Corporation (AAIC) in partnership with Grafted in Ministry, the feeding program was done for seven days: November 6, 13, 20, 27 and December 4, 11, 18. So the children will also feel the spirit of Christmas, the December dates included a gift giving component for the kids. The organizers of the feeding program acknowledged that the event was truly rewarding for them, especially when they saw the smiles on the children’s faces before, during and after the event.

Ar-Mje Misericordia-Lao, corporate treasurer of Aiden & Alec International Corporation shared, “The ministry program has a special place in my heart because it reaches out to those people who are mostly in need of spiritual guidance and support in this time of the pandemic. With AAIC sponsoring the feeding program, it was indeed a memorable experience for me, because I became an instrument to extend to others the message that there is hope and a promise of a better tomorrow as long as we believe. I saw in the participants their optimism, that in every pain or struggle, we will overcome as long as we keep our hopes high.”

Ar-Mje also said that she is planning to have a skills training program this December at Barangay M. Sapa, Sta. Maria, Bulacan in coordination with Ms. Glendah Reyes from the PESO department of the municipality of Sta. Maria, Bulacan.

She adds, “To the team of Pastor Joseph Cunanan, may your ministry's teachings and views touch more people; helping and guiding people's spiritual needs to be stronger in facing difficult times and adversities. May you continue to be a light for others that brings hope and enables them to strive harder for a better way of life.”

Pastor Joseph Cunanan, expressed his gratitude during the event, “I would like to thank Aiden & Alec International Corporation for their heartfelt support of Grafted in Ministry in this feeding program. The kids and their parents are so blessed in this event. Praying for more programs together and I pray for the blessings of the Lord to be upon your company. Godbless AAIC!”

JobStreet, CSC to offer over 24,000 government job positions in the nationwide Virtual Career Fair, launches Career Tools

More than 24,000 government job vacancies nationwide will be offered to jobseekers as the leading online job portal JobStreet hosts its Virtual Career Fair in partnership with the Civil Service Commission (CSC) happening on September 20 to 24.

This is in line with the platform’s continued commitment to provide jobs that matter during these increasingly unpredictable times, empowering candidates that were affected by the pandemic and the recent strict implementation of community quarantine.

Over 160 government agencies are participating in the Virtual Career Fair, offering various specializations such as Security/Armed Forces/Protective Services, Education Clerical/Administrative Support, General Work (Housekeeper, Driver, Dispatch, Messenger, etc), Healthcare (Nurse, Medical Support, Assistant), among others.

Central Visayas, CALABARZON (Cavite, Laguna, Batangas, Rizal, and Quezon) and MIMAROPA (Mindoro, Marinduque, Romblon, and Palawan), Eastern Visayas, Zamboanga, and Cordillera Administrative Region are the top locations for the said government jobs.

According to The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), around 90,000 workers were affected by the recent Enhanced Community Quarantine. They have either permanently lost their jobs or are under flexible work arrangements.

Based on JobStreet’s Global Talent Survey, many jobseekers are now prioritizing job security over financial compensation due to the unpredictability of the COVID-19 crisis. Furthermore, the government sector is one of the top employers in JobStreet, hence viewed as a more secure career option by Filipino workers at this time.

With this, JobStreet and CSC offer employment opportunities in the public sector by bringing jobseekers and hiring government agencies together in the virtual career fair.

The joint initiative is also in commemoration of the CSC’s 121st Philippine Civil Service Anniversary, wherein they committed to holding an enjoyable, productive, and helpful virtual job fair this 2021.

“It has always been JobStreet’s advocacy to provide every Filipino with jobs that matter, and it’s an honor that the Civil Service Commission trusted us again to be a part of this initiative to help candidates rebuild themselves and find an opportunity to be of service to our nation,” shared JobStreet Philippines Country Manager Philip Gioca.

Applicants during the Virtual Career Fair in partnership with CSC can explore the platform’s live chat feature and Facebook Live events, with the chance to be interviewed on-the-spot.

To register for the Virtual Career Fair, visit http://jobstreet.com.ph/vcf-9

Talent empowerment with the right tools

On top of this event, JobStreet has also amplified its valuable support for jobseekers with its newest feature in the platform - Career Tools.

Dedicated to uplift and empower candidates in their professional journey, JobStreet’s Career Tools is a convenient, one-stop-shop feature with helpful tools and information to guide jobseekers in making the right career decisions. It includes an Interview Practice Tool, Resume Templates, Cover Letter Templates, a Career Development Planner, and a Salary Calculator.

The Interview Practice Tool contains the most commonly asked interview questions with actionable tips to help candidates prepare and respond positively for their next interview. Candidates can also utilize the downloadable Resume and Cover Letter Templates as a starting point to their online job hunting. The Career Tool also offers a Career Development Planner to help guide jobseekers towards their next step and a Salary Calculator for a quick way to find out their estimated take-home pay.

For easy access, Jobstreet created a landing page meant as a one stop destination for retrieving all career tools.

“We’re very excited to introduce the Career Tool to our candidates and be of great help with their online job hunting. JobStreet is doing its best to support jobseekers more than ever and we hope that through this simple initiative, we can make their career journey a little bit more manageable and productive,” said JobStreet Senior Sales Manager Mr. Ryan Tordesillas.

World Vision’s Global 6K Run extends registration to August 31, 2021!

World Vision in the Philippines is extending the registration for the Global 6K Run to August 31, 2021. Global 6K Run is a virtual run that invites the public to unite for clean water in the country, especially in the most vulnerable communities.

World Vision, through the Global 6K Run, aims to make clean water more accessible by raising funds to build multiple water facilities in Laurel, Batangas, and other communities in need. These facilities will not only provide drinking water but also water for hygiene and sanitation purposes, especially since one effective way to prevent the spread of COVID-19 is through proper handwashing and hygienic practices.

This virtual running event also aims to promote fitness and health during the pandemic while raising funds for the needs of World Vision’s most vulnerable children and communities.

Interested participants can now register for the Global 6K Run until August 31, 2021, by visiting https://wvph.co/g6kph. There are several run categories to choose from: 6K, 12K, 24K, or 60K, which can be tracked by any available fitness tracker app or indoor running equipment. Individuals who will submit proof of completion of the run will get an electronic certificate. They can also receive an event shirt if they purchased it as an add-on during registration. Participants will be given one month, from September 1 to 30, to complete their desired distance.

World Vision Celebrity Ambassador Enzo Pineda, a staunch supporter of the child-focused organization’s initiatives for health and wellness, invites the public to join the cause and unite for clean water for many vulnerable children and individuals.

“I’m supporting the Global 6K Run because I want to encourage our fellow Filipinos to give and help those who are in need. I also understand the value of clean water because it is essential to life. Giving the children and their community access to clean water will be a huge help during this pandemic where health is a priority,” Enzo Pineda shared. “I encourage everyone to join because their help will go a long way. It also feels amazing to be a blessing to others.”

Anyone can register to participate in this global advocacy event and contribute to World Vision’s goal of providing clean water in their assisted communities. Since it is a virtual run, the participants can walk or run whether indoors or outdoors and use running or steps app to monitor the distance, provided that they strictly adhere to prescribed community quarantine protocols in their area.

“We thank God for your support to the World Vision Global 6K Run. Through this initiative, we can help thousands of children across the Philippines to access clean water and facilities for sanitation and hygiene. And it's a bonus that we can enjoy this activity while keeping ourselves fit, strong, and healthy during this challenging time,” said Mr. Rommel Fuerte, National Director of World Vision Development Foundation, Inc.

MSMEs come together for the World Vision and ComCo SEA Cause Marketing for Good initiative

As part of their initiative to support MSMEs, global development and advocacy organization World Vision and regional integrated communications agency ComCo Southeast Asia held the Cause Marketing for Good Virtual Conference to give MSMEs the chance to do good for themselves and for others. Different experts from renowned brands and agencies around the country joined the event and shared information, experiences and learnings about cause-related marketing or CRM to help equip MSMEs on how to champion social issues through their marketing efforts.

It’s been over a year since COVID-19 struck and people all around the world are still trying to cope. Millions were left jobless as businesses closed down in the middle of the pandemic. In the Philippines, micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs were hit especially hard as they try to keep their businesses afloat while facing huge hurdles brought about by economic downturn, quarantine regulations, and the pandemic itself. But even when faced with these challenges, MSMEs from around the country have come together to find ways to give back to vulnerable communities.

“We at World Vision together with ComCo Southeast Asia and our esteemed speakers are honored to present this online conference in hopes that it will inspire MSMEs to start or to strengthen their own cause marketing initiatives,” shared World Vision National Director Rommel Fuerte. “Likewise, we thank all our corporate partners throughout the years for working with us in various initiatives that promote children's wellbeing. As we lift each other this time of pandemic and look after vulnerable families, communities and all children, may God sustain us and be our ultimate source of strength, wisdom and peace.”

The online conference included sessions on defining CRM and developing and implementing a CRM campaign by Angela Totanes, marketing manager of Robinsons Supermarket; CRM’s impact on brand image, sales and consumer behavior by David Viray, head of branding and creatives at AirAsia; the results of their study “Cause Marketing & Driving Digital Uplift” by Miko David, president and co-founder of David and Golyat; and how to use e-commerce to forward your cause by Yshana Wong, Lazada Philippines’ strategic partnerships senior associate. There was also a panel on how to create effective CRM campaigns featuring experts and practitioners of the field such as Ferdinand Bondoy, regional integration and chief executive director, partner and co-founder of ComCo Southeast Asia for public relations and Third Domingo, founder and CEO of IdeasXMachina for creatives.

“Doing cause oriented projects is not a nice to have anymore. It is a must, especially at these challenging times. It is each one's responsibility to help rebuild the society, as business will only flourish if the economy is in place,” shared Ferdinand Bondoy. “Now more than ever, cause-related marketing is becoming an important tool because it not only lets businesses nurture deeper relationships with their consumers, but it also allows them to bring more attention to social causes, doing some good in the process. It’s a good time for businesses to start integrating social causes into their plans and help make a significant change to our country and our world when it’s needed the most.”

Mr. Bondoy also announced the upcoming Igniting Social Good Project – a competition for MSMEs that joined the virtual conference, where participants will create an original cause marketing campaign that supports people and communities that have been affected by the pandemic. The chosen enterprise will win ComCo Southeast Asia’s ignite package – an integrated communications services package for MSMEs for the chance to make their winning cause marketing campaign come to life.

“We are excited to see so many companies interested in cause marketing and promoting social causes. As part of our advocacy for MSMEs, we created this competition in partnership with World Vision to support those enterprises who want to do good and be a driving force for social change,” added Mr. Bondoy.

World Vision and ComCo Southeast Asia’s Cause Marketing for Good campaign aims to support and teach MSMEs how to make their businesses relevant through effective and sustainable cause-related marketing campaigns that can rally support from the public.

World Vision calls to support a meaningful future for Filipino children in the “Back-to-School” campaign

World Vision, one of the leading child-focused NGOs in the Philippines, launches its “Back-to-School” campaign to support Filipino children for the opening of the school year 2021-2022.

Due to the ongoing pandemic, the consequences of COVID-19 continue to affect many, especially those living in the most vulnerable conditions. Among those most heavily affected are children as the pandemic continues to disrupt their learning and development and makes education inaccessible to millions of students nationwide.

Research conducted by World Vision revealed that since 2019, almost three million students have dropped out of school and that five in ten families lacked access to basic education. These problems have only worsened during the pandemic because of the limited avenues to learn. In the absence of face-to-face learning, online or remote methods have become the temporary norm, however, more than 38% of children in far-flung areas are unable to take advantage of this medium as they cannot afford the technological materials required.

In the face of these challenges, World Vision continues to believe that every child has the right to have access to quality education in these trying times through the “Back-to-School” campaign. The campaign hopes to not only raise enough money to sponsor learning materials for students but also highlight the need to create a more meaningful future for them.

“Despite the challenges posed by the pandemic, it is inspiring to see a number of most vulnerable children continue to have access to quality education. With your support to World Vision’s Back To School campaign, we can sustain their learning and help them reach their full potential. Together, we can look forward to a bright future,” said Mr. Rommel Fuerte, World Vision National Director.

Last year, World Vision’s “Back-to-School” campaign has helped 64,000 children by raising funds to provide school kits and printed modules for students in remote areas. This year, World Vision strives to help even more as they carry the same mission with the campaign’s Celebrity Ambassador Jasmine Curtis Smith and World Vision Advocate Scarlet Snow Belo.

“The pandemic has severely hindered many children’s opportunities to have a good education, but we’re hoping that World Vision’s ‘Back-to-School’ campaign could help them in any way and that everyone can find their reasons to support a child. This is a cause I really believe in, and I stand with World Vision in ensuring that these children reach their full potential through education,” said Jasmine Curtis Smith.

In line with the advocacy of the Back to School campaign, Jasmine Curtis-Smith recently donated to World Vision 1,500 children’s books that aim to educate kids on proper and secure use of the internet. The donated books will go to at least a thousand children in Malabon.

World Vision Celebrity Ambassador Jasmine Curtis-Smith donates books for World Vision

Help create a more meaningful future for our children by supporting World Vision’s Back-to-School campaign at https://wvph.co/OfficialPRB2S. For as low as Php 600, you can give students in remote areas the materials they need for their education, including school kits, printed modules, and gadgets for learning.
