In the village of Gavaldon, two misfits and best friends, Sophie (Sophia Anne Caruso) and Agatha (Sofia Wylie), share the unlikeliest of bonds. Sophie, a golden-haired seamstress, dreams of escaping her dreary life to become a princess, while Agatha, with her grim aesthetic and offbeat mother, has the makings of a real witch. IABC Philippines to celebrate communications excellence at 19th Philippine Quill Awards

The International Association of Business Communicators Philippines (IABC PH) will once again honor and celebrate the best of the campaigns, programs and tools promoted in the Philippine communications industry from January 2020 up to July 2021 at the 19th Philippine Quill and 9th Student Quill Awards, the country’s most prestigious awards program in the field of business communication.

The Quills is a communication Olympiad highlighting the gold standard in communication for professionals as well as students.  The IABC Philippines has been running the Quills for almost two decades, promoting a spirit of friendly competition as well as unity amongst Philippine communications practitioners in pursuit of a common goal – communications excellence.

Each entry is evaluated using IABC’s highest global standards.  The industry sees the Quill as a seal of approval, recognizing the use of excellent communication to achieve business goals and to make a difference in society.

The 19th edition of Philippine Quill Awards and the 9th Philippine Student Quill Awards will carry the theme “Move: Stronger Together”, highlighting the power of communications in shaping the future. With recent challenges, IABC encourages communicators to use their voice and platforms to navigate and move through the next normal bigger and better – setting the direction and inspiring people towards action and positive change.

BULLET TRAIN - It's Wild, Crazy, Fun !

 


Ladybug (Brad Pitt) has one mission - to retrieve a certain brief case, which contains ten million  dollars, and get off the next train station. But as it turns out, it's not as simple as that. Several assassins are aboard the bullet train, and they're out to kill each other. Brad Pitt as the lead character is very funny without trying to. And  he's also great with his action scenes. He reportedly did 95% of his own stunts.     


And the cast of characters are just awesome. Aaron Taylor-Johnson and Brian Tyree Henry, play British assassins Tangerine and Lemon, who grew up together like brothers, and thus were called "the twins".  Their exchange of banters are hilarious ! They are clearly the stand-outs. Joey King as the  Prince is the seemingly innocent school girl, but looks as they say, are deceiving. Latino rapper Bad Bunny is the Wolf, who is out for revenge. While Zazie Beetz is the Hornet, an assassin who uses snake poison. There are more characters and surprise cameos, but I don't want to give everything away so as not to spoil the film. Better not check who's on the cast list.   


I don't understand the flak that this film is getting from some critics. 
This is one of the most entertaining movies I've seen this year. The action pieces are incredible, cinematography is colorful and stylish, and there's  plenty of humor. Directed by David Leitch who also helmed Deadpool 2, Atomic Blonde, Hobbs & Shaw, and John Wick (uncredited).

DC LEAGUE OF SUPER-PETS : Krypto's Team Take On The Spotlight



This is the story of Krypto, the superdog, and his owner Kal-El/ Superman. They've been best friends since the beginning, from the time they were sent from the planet Krypton, to the many adventures of Superman here on Earth. When Clark falls in love with Lois Lane, Krypto got jealous. So Clark thought of finding a new friend for his dog at the animal shelter. And that's how we meet all the animals that would make up the league. The spotlight is on the pets. It's their time to shine.

Dwayne Johnson is Krypto, while Kevin Hart is Ace, the Bat-hound. As always, they have undeniable chemistry, whether in live action, or animation. John Krasinski is great as Superman. He exudes the confidence of Kal-El, and the mild-mannered ways of Clark Kent. But what really surprised me is the casting of Keanu Reeves as Batman. He's like this dark, brooding, emo Batman whenever he opens his mouth. He's hilarious ! It's refreshing to see Superman on the silver screen again, albeit in an animated feature, with the Justice League. Could this mean that we are going to see them again, in live action ? 


Of course the movie was made for kids, and the kids-at-heart. There were plenty of jokes - some were geared towards really small kids, but there were also jokes for the adults. It has heart, humor, and the animation is great. If you're a DC superheroes fan, you're gonna enjoy this. And if you're a dog owner, you'll definitely love this ! Stay for the two mid-credits scenes. Overall it's cute, funny, and charming !
