COLUMBIA PICTURES Director Zach Cregger takes audiences through a non-stop race for survival in “Resident Evil” In PH cinemas Sept. 16. Tickets available now!

Austin Abrams as Bryan with an eerie passenger in Resident Evil

As a devoted fan of the Resident Evil videogames, it’s a dream come true for Zach Cregger to direct a film based on the beloved franchise. “The games are a great standard for survival horror,” says Cregger. “I’m celebrating everything I love about them by telling a story that could exist on the edges of one of the games.”

Known for his previous critically acclaimed horror films, Barbarian and Weapons, Cregger aims to create a whole new horror experience for audiences. “I leaned into the visceral stuff,” he continues. “The movie follows a person from point A to point B; it’s like a real-time journey, where we’re propelled deeper and deeper into the depths of Hell. It’s a constant, ‘Go! Go! Go!’”

Watch the official trailer: https://youtu.be/xUhD0rM3qaA

Resident Evil is an all new story based on the perspective of medical courier Bryan (Austin Abrams) whose task to deliver a package takes him into a horrifying race for survival. Bryan encounters mutated creatures, infected beings, and inhospitable conditions as the night devolves around him.

Producer Roy Lee is proud to take audiences through the iconic Racoon City as people have never experienced before. “Our film is a roller coaster ride of non-stop action,” says Lee, “and it’s set in the world of Raccoon City, one of the game’s most memorable locales. Zach is giving audiences something they have not experienced before in cinema.”

Austin Abrams as Bryan inside the tunnels of Racoon City in Resident Evil

Producer Asad Qizilbash has nothing but praise at Cregger’s reinvention of Resident Evil. “The best Resident Evil games don’t just scare you; they make you afraid of what’s coming next. That’s cinema. Zach is brilliant at weaponizing tension, then breaking it with something shocking, strange or darkly funny. That filmmaker instinct he has, is perfect for Resident Evil: you think you know what’s going to happen, and then Zach shows you something you never expected.”

Longtime Resident Evil producer Robert Kulzer is happy to have Cregger take the reins, saying “Zach wanted to create a ride, an immersive experience. He wanted to take the audience by the hand in minute one, take them on this journey, and not let them go till minute 90. Zach delivered all that and more.”

Producer Victor Hadida, who has been part of the Resident Evil film franchise for decades along with Kulzer, agrees with his fellow producer’s sentiment, adding that he was “blown away by Zach’s take, which will have audiences jumping and cheering and going out of their minds.”

Resident Evil unleashes horror in Philippine cinemas, including IMAX, on September 16.

Jobstreet by SEEK strengthens Filipino MSMEs through better hiring and stronger teams

 PRESS RELEASE

MANILA, Philippines — For micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs), having the right people can make all the difference in sustaining and growing a business. Yet for many entrepreneurs, finding the right talent remains a challenge, particularly when working with limited hiring resources.

Around 46% of MSMEs are experiencing a talent crisis, even as 72% plan to expand their workforce, according to a recent survey by Boston Consulting Group and the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI).

Recognizing this gap, Jobstreet by SEEK is strengthening its support for Filipino MSMEs by bringing recruitment expertise, digital hiring tools, and business resources closer to local entrepreneurs.

Anchored on the theme “Building Better Teams. Growing Businesses,” Jobstreet by SEEK has rolled out a series of business talks, summits, and capacity-building initiatives in partnership with local government units, business organizations, and MSME communities. These efforts aim to help entrepreneurs navigate hiring challenges, build stronger teams, and create a more solid foundation for long-term business growth.

Creating spaces for MSMEs to learn and connect

Jobstreet by SEEK team during the Street Sign Ceremony and BizTalk sessions in Pasig and Quezon City.

Jobstreet by SEEK brought its recruitment expertise directly to local business communities through its BizTalks in Pasig and Quezon City, held in partnership with the Pasig City Local Economic Development and Investment Office (LEDIO) and the Quezon City Small Business and Cooperatives Development and Promotions Office (SBCDPO).

The sessions equipped MSME owners with practical knowledge across recruitment, digital tools, entrepreneurship, and available government support programs.

In Pasig, participants were introduced to FREE Jobstreet Lite Job Ads and AI-assisted job ad creation, helping small businesses explore simpler and more accessible ways to find talent.

Meanwhile, Quezon City-based hirers learned how digital recruitment tools, entrepreneurial insights, and stronger collaboration within the local business community can help them address workforce needs while navigating the demands of business growth.

Connecting entrepreneurs to a wider business ecosystem

Jobstreet by SEEK team during the Pink Light Ceremony at the Negosyo Forward: READY. SET. GROW event.

Beyond its dedicated BizTalks, Jobstreet by SEEK has continued to expand its MSME support by connecting entrepreneurs with a broader network of experts, resources, and business opportunities.

Through Jobstreet Negosyo Forward: READY, SET, GROW, held in partnership with PH Business Network, participants gained access to a dedicated business clinic offering personalized, one-on-one consultations with business advisors and industry experts.

The sessions covered key areas critical to running and scaling a business, including finance, workforce management, labor compliance, banking, intellectual property, digital transformation, and business registration.

Jobstreet by SEEK also strengthened its presence within the MSME community through major industry gatherings, including Quezon City MSME Week 2026 at Gateway Mall 2, Araneta City, and the Go Negosyo MSME Summit at SM Mall of Asia.

Through these engagements, more entrepreneurs and small business owners were introduced to practical recruitment solutions, free hiring tools, and employer resources designed to make hiring more accessible and manageable for growing businesses.

Helping businesses grow through the right people

For Jobstreet by SEEK, supporting MSMEs goes beyond providing recruitment tools. It is about helping entrepreneurs recognize that building the right team is an important part of building a stronger and more sustainable business.

“We believe that growing a business starts with having the right people behind it. Through our partnerships and engagements with MSMEs, we hope to make hiring more accessible and empower more Filipino businesses to grow with confidence, supported by the right talent,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK in the Philippines.

As Filipino MSMEs continue to expand and create employment opportunities across the country, Jobstreet by SEEK remains committed to helping businesses navigate their hiring needs and connect with talent who can contribute to their growth.

Pawgrounds at Parqal: A Place for Pets, A Space for Shared Moments

 PRESS RELEASE

Pawgrounds at Parqal offers a dedicated space where pets and their humans can enjoy time outdoors, play, and create shared moments.

For many Filipino fur parents, pets are more than just companions – they are part of the family. From morning walks and weekend strolls to spontaneous café runs, more pet owners are looking for places where they can enjoy quality time with their four-legged friends.

This sentiment is reflected in TGM Research's 2026 Pet Ownership & Lifestyle Insights, with 57% of Filipinos identifying their pets as family members, and around 54% spending more on pet-related products and services than the previous year, pointing to the growing role pets play in everyday life.

As pets become more integrated into daily routines, so does the desire to include them in experiences outside the home. Pawgrounds at Parqal is a dedicated space where humans and their furry companions can play, enjoy the outdoors, and share meaningful moments together.

Furparents enjoy quality time with their furry companions, creating simple moments to cherish together at Pawgrounds.

More than a place to play, Pawgrounds creates space for shared moments – where a morning walk can become a routine, a weekend visit can become family time, and conversations between fur parents can turn into new connections.

“Today, we’re opening more than just a pet park. We’re opening a space where simple walks can turn into adventures, playtime can turn into friendships, and everyday moments can become memories,” said Guia Kristinne Pajimola, Parqal’s Operations Manager.

Furparents and their pets enjoy a fun-filled day of play and connection at Pawgrounds at Parqal.

This reflects Parqal's vision of thoughtfully designed spaces where people can move, connect, and enjoy the little moments that make everyday life meaningful. Set within its open-air, walkable environment, Pawgrounds at Parqal extends that experience to the four-legged members of the family. More importantly, it reflects what Parqal has always been about: creating spaces that enrich everyday life.

As the way Filipinos live with their pets continues to evolve, Pawgrounds offers a simple idea: when pets are family, they deserve a place in the experiences we share.

PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE review --- A delightful, heart-warming, visual treat for the whole family !

By: Edgar Allan E. Yu

When the Paw Patrol’s ship crash-lands on a vibrant tropical island hidden from the rest of the world, the heroic pups  find themselves surrounded by a whole new world of giant, gentle neighbors: dinosaurs!

Unlike the terrifying, predators found in Jurassic Park or Jurassic World, these dinosaurs are distinctly tailored for younger audiences—they're friendly, expressive, and far more curious than scary. The film delivers a steady stream of clever, action-packed rescue missions that keep the story moving at a fun, brisk pace. Visually, the animation is top-notch, bursting with brilliant colors, lush jungle landscapes, and high-tech rescue gadgets. And, of course, the pups themselves are as charming and cute as ever.

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie is a cheerful, heartwarming, and visual treat that will delight young kids, and any kid-at-heart looking for a fun, feel-good escape. It’s an easy recommendation for young fans and a fun, wholesome watch for the whole family!

Jennifer Hudson, Fortune Feimster and Jameela Jamil talk about their Dino-Loving Adventurer Characters in “PAW PATROL: THE DINO MOVIE”, opening in PH cinemas August 26! Plus, meet PAW Patrol pup Marshall in his own featurette!

 PARAMOUNT PICTURES

Cal Brunker, back once again in the director’s chair for the latest PAW Patrol movie, loves dinosaurs. Working on PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie has been one of the most fun experiences he’s had while working on the franchise, because he got to learn more about dinosaurs!

“We all love dinosaurs,” shares Brunker. “But animating dinosaurs is not easy! We wanted our dinosaurs to move in a way that felt authentic, believable, and realistic, pulling everyone even deeper inside the story. So one of the coolest things about making this movie was talking to real dinosaur experts to learn exactly how the bones and muscles fit together.”

Meet the dino-loving adventurers in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie. But first, get to know more about pup favorite Marshall in his own featurette: https://youtu.be/ynSnTuXXzm0

Marshall in PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie

Portraying a dinosaur-loving reporter called Lilian Ledes is Academy Award-winning actress and singer Jennifer Hudson (Goat). Lilian soon gets wrapped up in the adventure on Dino Island when she not only reports on the dinosaurs – the biggest story of her career – but she also ends up on top of one of the dinosaurs. Thankfully, the PAW Patrol is there to save her.

“It is beyond a dream to be a part of the PAW Patrol,” raves Hudson. “You didn’t have a childhood unless you grew up watching PAW Patrol! My son did. He is 16, and he is still in love with it to this day. It is an inspiring story because it has so many heroes in it, and everyone has a superpower. It teaches kids that they have one, too, and there’s always an answer and a solution by the time you get to the end.”

Meanwhile, Eugenia Bunsen (Fortune Feimster, Zootopia 2) and Heidi Pothesis (Jameela Jamil; Elio, The Good Place) have come to the island to study the miraculous dinosaurs. “I am so pumped to be in PAW Patrol,” shares Feimster. “It’s one of those films that is for everybody. It’s such a feel-good movie, and I’m finally a hit with my nephews! It is something they can watch and tell their friends about.”

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie

Feimster also loved seeing the way her voice informed the final look of her character in the film. “When I saw Eugenia, I immediately noticed she had big, curly blond hair and resembled my essence,” she says. “That was pretty cool. I couldn’t believe this animated character was physically inspired by my voice!”

Heidi, meanwhile, works at the Paleontological Institute where she’s studying dinosaurs. “It’s so cool to be part of PAW Patrol, partially because I’m obsessed with dogs,” laughs Jamil. “Dogs are the best, and dogs are genuine heroes!”

Heidi’s on the island trying to help the pups understand the dinosaurs, but she’s flying a little close to the sun, so she, too, soon finds herself needing the pups to come to her rescue. “They become a big crew together because they’re all fighting for survival under these insane circumstances,” she says.

It is the clever combination of all the things kids love and find stimulating that makes PAW Patrol so special, according to Jamil. “Kids feel seen, and they feel as though they can see themselves in these really fun adventures,” she says. “They’re saving people as a group, and so it’s not about ego, and there’s not one superstar. Everyone has their own moment at their own separate time. It’s a lovely and important thing to demonstrate the power of people coming together, and how much more powerful the outcome is. PAW Patrol is such an iconic franchise, and all my friends, especially the ones who are parents, now think I’m very cool. Finally!”

PAW Patrol: The Dino Movie roars into cinemas August 26. The song “Bottle Up,” performed by the Backstreet Boys and co-written by Ed Sheeran, is now out! Watch the official music video and learn the dance! #PAWPatrolMovie

Producer James Wan believes that people love horror because of the relatable and universal themes, amidst all the fright and terror. “The reason a lot of filmmakers really love playing in this particular playground is that horror allows us to say a lot of things we can’t otherwise say with other films,” says Wan. “We can make social commentary on the world, talk about the political climate. We can disguise it as a metaphor, an analogy. But people aren’t offended by it because at the end of the day it’s a scary movie – it’s supposed to confront you and offend you.”

Producer Jason Blum says of director Jacob Chase, “‘Insidious’ keeps going because every few years a filmmaker walks in with a reason to make it personal, not just a reason to make it scary. Jacob had that from the first meeting. Once I heard his take, the only job left was to get out of his way and let him build it.”

“Insidious: Out of the Further” is now haunting Philippine cinemas. Head to your local cinema or check out their ticketing websites to find out more. For more news and updates, check out Columbia Pictures PH’s Facebook, Instagram, and TikTok.

INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER review - A Fun Scary Watch for the sixth installment of the franchise

 By: Edgar Allan E. Yu

From the very first "Insidious" movie, this franchise has taken us on a chilling journey through supernatural horrors, with two sequels and two prequels expanding the terrifying world of the Lambert family. Now, with the sixth installment, INSIDIOUS OUT OF THE FURTHER, begins a new era. This time, the focus shifts to Gina, a dentist with the rare and haunting ability to travel to the Further—and the terrifying power to bring back entities into our world. Alongside her is her daughter Maya, who shares this dangerous gift, making them prime targets for relentless demons desperate to cross over.

This film delivers exactly what fans crave: plenty of heart-pounding jump scares and demons that are genuinely scary. The leader of these malevolent forces, Cyrus Lam, is a formidable and truly terrifying presence, supported by his three eerie acolytes who add an unsettling depth to the horror. One standout scene is the claustrophobic couch tunnel, where Gina must crawl through tight, confined spaces, only to encounter demons lurking in the shadows—an intense sequence that will have you gripping your seat. Another unforgettable moment is the dental clinic scene—gruesome and disgusting, yet perfectly crafted for a horror movie that knows how to push boundaries.

The performances by Amelia Eve, Sam Spruell, and the ever-iconic Lin Shaye—the face of the Insidious series—are remarkable. Directed by Jacob Chase, this installment arguably stands as the best sequel yet, breathing new life into the franchise while honoring its roots. The audience in my cinema was screaming and laughing throughout, a testament to the film’s ability to entertain and frighten simultaneously. Filipino audiences, known for their love of horror, were especially thrilled.

If you’re a fan of horror movies, INSIDIOUS: OUT OF THE FURTHER is a must-watch. Gather your friends, family, or even co-workers for a night of scary fun that will keep you on the edge of your seat. This movie proves that the Insidious franchise still knows how to deliver spine-tingling excitement with every chapter.

Critics call “The End of Oak Street” a crowd-pleasing popcorn movie, the best dinosaur movie since the ’90s Don’t miss “The End of Oak Street”, now showing in cinemas!

Critics are enjoying “The End of Oak Street,” praising the direction, style and performances, with one even calling it “a callback to classic sci-fi adventure.”

In their review, Collider, besides describing the film as a callback to sci-fi adventure classics, described the film as a lot of fun. They’re particularly impressed with director David Robert Mitchell’s work on the movie and, of course, Anne Hathaway. “It’s 90 minutes of edge-of-your-seat entertainment that commits to its concept and entertains throughout,” they wrote. “Big, loud, and guaranteed to make you jump at least once, it’s another eye-catching performance from the always-busy Hathaway, and proof that blockbuster entertainment doesn’t need to follow a franchise formula.”

Set in ’80s suburbia, “The End of Oak Street,” directed by David Robert Mitchell (“It Follows”) and co-produced by J.J. Abrams (“Super 8,” “Lost”), tells the story of the Platt family, played by Anne Hathaway, Ewan McGregor, Maisy Stella (“My Old Ass”) and Christian Convery (“Sweet Tooth”). After a mysterious cosmic event rips Oak Street from suburbia and transports their neighborhood to someplace unknown, the Platt family soon discovers that their very survival depends on them sticking together as they navigate their now unrecognizable surroundings.

IndieWire felt they were truly back in the ’80s, a time when Amblin Entertainment (founded by Steven Spielberg) released many of their now beloved classics, including “E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial,” “Poltergeist” and “Back to the Future.” “A crowd-pleasing but winkingly mean-spirited Amblin homage that perfectly captures the sweet menace of movies like ‘Gremlins’ and ‘The Goonies’ (so perfectly, in fact, that it almost feels like you’ve been sucked through a hole in space-time yourself), ‘The End of Oak Street’ is what multiplexes have been missing from recent summers,” they wrote. “Lean, clever, original, cheer-at-the-screen entertainment that will traumatize 10-year-olds for life and make their parents feel like they’re kids again.”

Ewan McGregor as Greg, and Anne Hathaway as Denise, wield their weapons of choice in their fight for survival against dinosaurs in “The End of Oak Street.”

For JoBlo.com, “The End of Oak Street” is the best dinosaur movie since the ’90s, when dinosaurs first became a massive movie phenomenon. And ComingSoon.net wrote that the film is “an extremely entertaining popcorn movie that feels designed to be experienced with a packed theater, complete with jump scares, big thrills, audience screams, and plenty of moments that practically beg you to shout at the screen.”

Ever since he was a kid, director David Robert Mitchell always wanted to make a dinosaur movie. “My dad was obsessed with dinosaurs, he had always dreamed of being a paleontologist and was always reading dinosaur books. So, I grew up around it,” shares the filmmaker. “I fell in love with the idea of doing it, but I didn’t know what would be my version of a dinosaur film. Then a few years ago I was walking through my neighborhood, just a casual stroll, and I was passing by this really interesting house and this alleyway. And I just imagined that there was a dinosaur there digging through the trash. I just could see it, and I stopped and I looked at this interesting tableau of this fantastical thing in this mundane place in a middle-class neighborhood. And I thought, I want to write something that feels like this. I want to make a movie that feels like this image in my mind.”

Run for your life! Christian Convery as Brian, and Maisy Stella as Audrey, flee from a dinosaur in “The End of Oak Street.”

Producer J.J. Abrams says that there are amazing sequences in “The End of Oak Street.” “One in particular I think could be a classic terror scene,” he shares. “But I think the big takeaway is the thrill of seeing dinosaurs in a suburban setting. The contrast of these wild creatures in an absolutely mundane neighborhood is spectacular. The insane story becomes far more relatable than you might expect.”

Run towards the cinemas and catch “The End of Oak Street,” now showing nationwide. #EndofOakStreet

Jobstreet by SEEK reveals 80% of Filipinos feel fairly paid, but only 59% are happy with their salary

PRESS RELEASE

Despite ongoing cost-of-living challenges and inflationary pressures, the Philippines emerges as one of the regional leaders in salary optimism. According to the latest 2026 Salary Pulse Report released by Jobstreet by SEEK, the Philippines ranks second in the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region for pay satisfaction, with 80% of Filipino workers feeling fairly or well paid; just behind Indonesia’s 81%.

However, the report reveals a critical primary insight for today's employment landscape: getting fairly paid no longer equals workplace contentment, as only 59% report being happy with their salary, highlighting a disconnect between what they consider fair and what they’d like to earn. In parallel, 45% of respondents say that their earnings still fall below their actual cost-of-living needs.

The Salary Pulse Report was conducted in February 2026, gathering over a thousand employed respondents in the Philippines. Jobstreet by SEEK, through this report, seeks to focus on attitudes and experiences around pay, including how fairly people feel paid, how happy they are with their salary, and how they approach pay conversations.

On salary fairness and work happiness

The 2026 Salary Pulse Report uncovers a notable disconnect between perceived market fairness and actual salary happiness. Among employees who view their pay as "fair (about right)," only 44% are actually satisfied with that level of remuneration, leaving 56% unsatisfied.

This indicates that workers evaluate salary not merely against industry benchmarks, but against their workload, how well they feel rewarded, and how it sustains their lifestyle. Employees’ expectations, as the report suggests, are likewise shaped by how strongly they believe their contribution is valued, and by how well their salary supports what matters to them outside of work.

Salary happiness has also been the driving motivation for Filipinos to stay in their jobs. When workers in the Philippines are happy with their pay, they're over 2.2x more likely to feel motivated and willing to put in extra effort at work. Conversely, unhappy workers are 2.9x more likely to actively look for a new job.

The Salary Pulse Report also finds that many workers in the Philippines are willing to make compromises, but highly value positive work culture. About 28% of employees stated they would consider relocating to another city or country for a 10% raise. Yet, the same workers are far less likely to sacrifice a positive workplace environment in exchange for a toxic culture for a 10% pay increase.

“The gap between fair pay and salary satisfaction shows that compensation is only one part of the employee experience. Employers need to look beyond salary benchmarks and pair competitive pay with meaningful recognition, clear career pathways, and open conversations about growth to build engaged, future-ready teams,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director of Jobstreet by SEEK in the Philippines.

Pay satisfaction across generations and industries

Generational priorities further shape compensation sentiment across the country. Millennials feel the most financially squeezed, with around half (54%) who are happy with their pay stating their salary falls below their standard of living needs, resulting in a lower salary happiness score (54%) compared to Gen Z (61%) and Gen X (60%).

While millennials are hesitant to compromise on the workplace environment, the report reveals they are the most open to pursuing side hustles to bridge their financial gap. In contrast, Gen Z workers (83%) are open to making trade-offs such as accepting a lower job title or less meaningful work for a 10% raise.

Across industries, Technology (54%) and Construction (50%) lead the market in workers who feel well paid, recording the highest overall salary happiness. Stronger wage growth drives this sentiment, with nearly half of workers in these sectors receiving raises in the last 12 months. Conversely, Industrial sector workers report the lowest pay satisfaction, with 58% noting their earnings fall below cost-of-living requirements.

The findings from the 2026 Salary Pulse Report present a strategic opportunity for Philippine business leaders and policymakers to modernize compensation models and performance management practices. By bridging the gap between pay fairness and meaningful reward, organizations can foster higher employee engagement, lower turnover risks, and build a resilient, future-ready workforce.

THE END OF OAK STREET Film Review - Refreshing, Comedic, Adventure. The best dinosaur movie to come out in years !

By: Edgar Allan E. Yu

THE END OF OAK STREET offers a thrilling and fresh take on the dinosaur genre that you absolutely cannot miss. Imagine waking up to find your entire neighborhood transported to the prehistoric age—dinosaurs roaming freely right outside your doorstep. The dinosaurs in this story are genuinely terrifying, with a slow, masterful build-up before their dramatic reveal. The film features a great variety of species and plenty of intense dinosaur action scenes that will satisfy any fan of adventure and suspense.

Anne Hathaway delivers a powerhouse performance, carrying the film from beginning to end as a no-nonsense mom who takes matters firmly into her own hands. Ewan McGregor complements her perfectly, portraying a husband who may not be perfect but certainly has his own memorable moments battling the prehistoric threat. Their kids, typical teens who make some questionable choices, add a relatable and likable dynamic to the family. The movie also pays homage to 1980s films, immersing you in the year 1982 with a blend of action, drama, comedy, horror, and science fiction.

This is, without a doubt, the best dinosaur movie to come out in years. The audience in our cinema was completely engaged, reacting to every twist and turn. If you love adventure and thrillers, THE END OF OAK STREET is an absolute must-watch. We had so much fun experiencing this cinematic ride! Thanks to @warnerbrosph for bringing this exciting story to life. #EndOfOakStreet is in cinemas now—go see it in the biggest screens !
