Meet the #GalaxyATeam: Ashtine, Caprice, Maki, and Will are ready for awesome adventures with the Galaxy A57 5G and A37 5G

Summer is getting an awesome upgrade as Samsung is officially leveling up with the Galaxy A-Team by introducing four trailblazers who embody the Gen Z spirit. Joining the group are versatile lead Ashtine Olviga, new Gen Z icon Caprice Cayetano, chart-topping musical artist Maki, and screen favorite Will Ashley.

More than just ambassadors, they represent the diverse facets of a generation that refuses to be put in a box. This new squad is here to show you how to step up your A-game with the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G and finally start living the dream life you have bookmarked.

Ashtine: The Multi-Hyphenate Muse

For Ashtine Olviga, life needs harmony between the spotlight and behind-the screen brilliance. Whether she is prepping for a new role on set or recording her latest track, the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G’s 50MP Wide Camera is there to document her journey as a rising singer-actress. But even a multi-hyphenate needs a reset; during her breaks, Ashtine relies on her device to play harder and smoother with its 120HZ refresh rate, diving into her favorite mobile games to recharge before the next take.

Ashtine says, “I love how my Galaxy A57 5G actually helps me in my work and more, like when I’m on break, I can use it to take good videos for my feed or play a quick round before stepping back in the shoot.” By stepping up her A-game, she shows that being intentionally awesome means having a phone that can transition seamlessly from a professional creative tool to a high-performance gaming powerhouse.

Caprice: The Spark of Spontaneity

As the recent big winner of a reality TV show, Caprice Cayetano represents the unfiltered energy of Gen Z. Now that she is always on the move, from winning reality TV to preparing for her new show and endorsements, she uses the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G to explore more and capture spontaneous joy as it happens. Circle to Search with Google helps her search outfit ideas or finding the new song title she just listened to.

“I’m usually always on the go, para sa shoots man yan, content, or kahit everyday moments [be it on shoots, content, or everyday moments], so having a phone that can keep up really helps. With the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G, it’s easier for me to create and capture things anytime, lalo na [especially] during travel or spontaneous moments. It lets me stay creative while still enjoying what I’m doing,” Caprice shares. She embodies what it means to be intentionally awesome, and that is taking every opportunity to explore her world and sharing those authentic, unscripted moments with her community.

Maki: Stepping Up the Soundtrack of Life

For hitmaker Maki, inspiration does not wait for a studio session. Whether he is capturing a melody for a new hit or performing live for his world tour, he uses the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G to document his journey in high definition, especially with the improved Nightography.

Maki says, "I'm amazed it can still take good videos in low light, such as how recording studios are lit. And I still get to take sharp photos, even when moving around. It's great for filming content and I love how it actually matches my aesthetic and style." By stepping up his A-game, Maki shows that with the right tools, you can turn your creative passion into the soundtrack of a generation.

Will: Redefining the Gen Z Hustle

As a seasoned actor and the "Nation’s Son", Will Ashley knows that a dream life requires a device that works as hard as he does. From long days on set to late-night events, he relies on the Galaxy A57 5G | A37 5G to explore more and play harder without missing a beat. Thanks to the improved performance and larger cooling chamber, gaming stays chill even for long hours.

For Will, being intentionally awesome means having a phone that’s fast, reliable, and has a solid camera that helps him stay in the flow and focus on what matters. As Will notes, “For me, stepping up isn’t always big—it’s in the small improvements. And if a device can make things smoother and help me express myself better, then that’s already a step forward.”

MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE review: A fun, action-packed version of the 80s animated series that fans, old and new, will enjoy!

 By: Edgar Allan E. Yu

I had an absolute blast watching the new MASTERS OF THE UNIVERSE! As a longtime fan of the original TV series from my childhood, I admit I went in with low expectations, especially after being disappointed by the recent animated reboots. But this movie completely exceeded those doubts and delivered an experience that was both thrilling and heartfelt.

The cinematography, costumes, and set design are truly impressive, capturing the essence of the original series while elevating it to a whole new level. The film balances humor and heart perfectly, making it enjoyable for fans old and new. The fight scenes are nothing short of spectacular, packed with energy and creativity that keep you engage with the characters. The sound design by Daniel Pemberton with electric guitar work by Brian May of Queen, brought me back to the 80s sci-fi and fantasy films.

Nicholas Galitzine shines in the dual role of Adam and the heroic He-Man, bringing a relatable charm to the character. Camila Mendes as Teela is not only stunning but also brings strength and depth to her role. Jared Leto’s portrayal of Skeletor is pitch-perfect—this might just be his most fun and memorable role yet. Director Travis Knight, known for Bumblebee, masterfully maintains the campy, quirky vibe of the original show while raising the bar with intense, well-choreographed action sequences. Watching the film feels like seeing the beloved cartoon come to life in the best way possible.

This movie was clearly made with fans in mind, but it also opens the door wide for new generations of action and fantasy lovers. Don’t miss the mid-credits and post-credit scenes—there are three of them, and they set up what promises to be an exciting sequel. Now I'm on my way to a third screening !

Daniel Craig as William Lee

Starring Daniel Craig as William Lee and Drew Starkey as Eugene Allerton, alongside Lesley Manville, Jason Schwartzman, Henrique Zaga, and Omar Apollo, “QUEER” is set in 1950s Mexico City and follows William, an American expatriate living in isolation within a small foreign community. His life shifts when he meets Eugene, a young student who awakens in him a powerful and unexpected sense of connection: one that challenges solitude, desire, and the possibility of love itself.

In adapting William S. Burroughs’ semi-autobiographical and unfinished novel, Luca Guadagnino has described the story as one rooted in tenderness rather than detachment, emphasizing that Burroughs’ work reveals a side beneath its complex writing, with a quieter emotional landscape beneath its literary mythology. In this vision, love is not defined by distance or impossibility, but by the attempt, even though it’s imperfect and fragile, to reach one another.

Get to know the forces of evil led by the nefarious Skeletor in “Masters of the Universe”

 COLUMBIA PICTURES

New featurette available!

Jared Leto stars as Skeletor in Masters of the Universe

In Masters of the Universe Eternia has fallen under the the forces of Skeletor, and it’s up to He-Man, who has returned from his Earthly exile, to fight back. He is not alone, as fighting by his side are other heroes of Eternia determined to take back their planet, but Skeletor also has his allies. In the newest “Forces of Evil” vignette, the filmmakers put the spotlight on the skull-faced tyrant, and the villainous warriors under his rule.

Watch the “Forces of Evil” vignette: https://youtu.be/nvi64wX5YkQ

“Skeletor, on his surface, seems like he just wants power and he's willing to do whatever it takes, but it's what's lacking in him that makes him want that power,” says producer Jason Blumenthal. “And what's lacking in him is what's inside of Adam. I’d call it a moral compass. You either have one or you don't. And if you don't, you are evil.”

The filmmakers tapped Jared Leto to voice the iconic villain, with the actor being a massive He-Man fan bringing a solid knowledge of the character into his performance. He understands that as menacing as Skeletor is, there’s still a lot of fun to be had in the role. . “We were shooting a scene and I was laughing so hard that he brought me to tears,” director Travis Knight says of Leto. “He will make these choices that you don't see coming and that really does help to make Skeletor distinctive. He's just an extraordinarily memorable villain.”

Alison Brie plays Evil-Lyn in Masters of the Universe

Evil-Lyn, played by Alison Brie, is a cunning enchantress that serves as Skeletor’s right hand. For Brie, getting into character needed just the right mix of menace and surprisingly, comedy. “I think the most exciting thing to me about this iteration of He-Man is the sense of humor,” Brie says. “Skeletor and Evil-Lyn had a really funny rapport in the original series. Some of the iterations since then have been more serious, and I like that this movie has a meta quality. It's able to laugh at itself, but also deliver for the fans and take itself seriously when it needs to.”

There’s also the turbulent relationship between Evil-Lyn and Skeletor, which can be pretty toxic in Brie’s opinion. “She vacillates between sort of loving Skeletor, and idolizing him, and being very excited for him to get the power, but secretly she wants to have all the power,” Brie says. “She knows how to press his buttons, but she's also there to build him up. She notoriously has no loyalty to Skeletor. She likes to pretend that she does, but we all know the power dynamic between Evil-Lyn and Skeletor is super volatile.”

Another fighter in Skeletor’s roster of villains is the cyborg Trap Jaw, an intimidating mish-mash of parts with an even nastier bite. There is quite a bit of prosthetic work to be a part of Skeletor’s army, and for actor Sam C. Wilson, it’s part of the process of embodying the role. “The way that I play him, he's a really gruesome kind of guy,” Wilson says. “His jaw hurts his head, so he's got a headache and none of it is very comfortable. With the amazing work that the prosthetics team has done, I can make this guy feel eerie and strange.”

6-foot-9 bodybuilder and 2018’s World’s Strongest Man Hafþór Júlíus Björnsson credits He-Man as an inspiration for his journey as a strongman, and is stoked to be a part of Masters of the Universe. He plays Goat Man, a demonic figure with massive horns on his head. “All of us were at some point influenced by these characters, which were so popular back in the day,” Björnsson says. “I grew up with the generation that had He-Man, and being able to be a part of this was just an honor for me.”

The evil must be vanquished as Masters of the Universe arrives in Philippine cinemas on June 3.

Ayala Malls Cinemas unleashes a new tale of terror with the exclusive release of “Obsession”

Arrives in the PH May 27 with Early Access Screenings on May 23

Ayala Malls Cinemas expands its roster of curated, world-class exclusive titles with critically acclaimed, original horror film Obsession. The movie is directed by a new voice in horror, Curry Barker, who went viral for his 2024 found footage horror film Milk & Serial. Obsession is a story of a hopeless romantic, who in a desperate bid to capture the heart of the girl he likes, makes a wish on a kitschy “One Wish Willow” toy. He finds himself getting exactly what he needs, but soon discovers that wishes can come with a dark, sinister price.

Director Baker shares his motivation for weaving this dark story for the big screen. “With Obsession, I wanted to tell a story about how far someone’s fixation on another person can go. At what point does something we call love stop being love? And beyond that, what does the word “love” even mean?”

Baker also wants his film to leave a lasting impression on the viewers, stating, “I want people leaving the theater still talking - arguing over how they felt, what they would have done differently, and whether what they saw was love or obsession.”
