Should You Worry Over "Don't Worry Darling" ?

  

Set in an idealized 1950s community, Alice and Jack live in a world where everything seems perfect. Every morning, the men goes to work in the Victory project, while their wives are left behind, enjoying their homes - cleaning or preparing meals. Until such time when something happens to a neighbor's wife, and weird things start happening. Alice begins to question her reality.     

Let me just say that this mystery-thriller has a stellar cast - with Florence Pugh, Harry Styles, Chris Pine, Gemma Chan, and Olivia Wilde who's also the Director. The cinematography is beautiful, the costumes lovely, the cars are cool, and production design is fabulous. The movie keeps you interested enough, but towards the end of it, it leaves you dissatisfied. It seems the writers didn't put much attention to the development of events leading to the big reveal. So many questions left unanswered. 

Now I'm not hating the movie. It does look beautiful on the surface. And the acting among the cast is generally good, especially Ms. Flo (Florence Pugh). She carried the film from beginning to end. It has so much potential. It's just unfortunate that they could have done more. Anyways, it's a good study on how not to ruin an otherwise great movie.

James Cameron’s “Avatar” heads back to Philippine cinemas for a limited run

As an Avatar, a human mind in an alien body, he finds himself torn between two worlds, in a desperate fight for his own survival and that of the Na’vi. He meets and falls in love with the Na’vi Neytiri (Zoe Saldaña) and opens his eyes to the destruction the humans are wreaking on Pandora, and sides with the Na’vi to protect their world from human hands.

 

The film successfully transports its audience–then and now–from the darkened theaters to Pandora itself through the use of groundbreaking and innovative motion capture techniques and visual effects that brought the blue world and Na’vi to life in 3D. It’s a truly immersive experience without comparison.

Slumberland starring Jason Momoa and introducing Marlow Barkley

comes to Netflix on November 18 

Slumberland takes audiences to a magical new place, a dreamworld where precocious Nemo (Marlow Barkley) and her eccentric companion Flip (Jason Momoa) embark on the adventure of a lifetime. After her father Peter (Kyle Chandler) is unexpectedly lost at sea, young Nemo’s idyllic Pacific Northwest existence is completely upended when she is sent to live in the city with her well-meaning but deeply awkward uncle Phillip (Chris O’Dowd). Her new school and new routine are challenging by day but at night, a secret map to the fantastical world of Slumberland connects Nemo to Flip, a rough-around-the-edges but lovable outlaw who quickly becomes her partner and guide. She and Flip soon find themselves on an incredible journey traversing dreams and fleeing nightmares, where Nemo begins to hope that she will be reunited with her father once again.

World Vision awards One For Children seal to Delex Pharma International, Inc.

Honoring their remarkable support for children over the years, Delex Pharma International was the latest recipient of World Vision’s One for Children Seal. 

Awarded in their partner recognition ceremony called Project Salute, the plaque of recognition was given to Delex Pharma International to recognize the remarkable support the company has been providing World Vision and its projects for children.

World Vision Resource Development Director Jun Godornes, Donor Care Manager, Precious Basco, and Major Donor Engagement Specialist, Monseratt Luna, handed the award to Delex Pharma Managers present at the event. Joining the ceremony virtually were CEO & Chairman of the Board J. de Ruyter C. Oroceo and Vice President for Operations Noel B. Omandam. The ceremony was held at the Delex Pharma office in Sauyo, Quezon City.

 

Delex started by supporting 45 children in 2015. Through the years, this grew to 125 indigent students who have been given access to education, health and nutrition, values formation, livelihood opportunities, and economic development in the community. It has also been providing support for various World Vision programs and campaigns over the years, including assistance during the fire emergency response in Malabon last 2017. 

Recently, Delex also provided school supplies to students in need in partnership with the Department of Education.   

Mr. Oroceo also shared that receiving the award was truly inspiring for the organization, as the company believes that helping the community is a moral obligation. 

He further stated, “What we have in our possession is not ours but His.” Thus, in his leadership, Delex Pharma continues to extend its arms to the community. He expressed and hope that the support for the less fortunate children will expand in the future.
