NETFLIX'S EVER NEVER HALLOWEEN BALL

It's the primary Halloween Ball by Netflix. It was an evening of Magnificence and Franticness. Guests  came in their beautiful outfits portraying  portions of our favorite dream characters. There were sovereigns and princesses, holy messengers and evil spirits, pixies, mythical beings, imps, and other supernatural creatures. The scene was embellished like it came from the pages of a fantasy book. There were trivia games, dance standoffs, and a lot of luxurious food. It resembled going to a JS Prom set in a world of make-believe.

In celebration of The School for Good and Evil and Halloween! The Netflix Film adaptation of Soman Chainani’s bestselling novel stars an ensemble cast including Charlize Theron, Kerry Washington, Laurence Fishburne, Michelle Yeoh, Sofia Wylie, Sophia Anne Caruso, Kit Young, Patti LuPone, Rachel Bloom, and the voice of Cate Blanchett as “The Storian.”

BLACK ADAM - Dwayne Johnson's Passion Project Finally Brought To Life

5,000 years after he was presented with the almighty powers of the old divine beings - and detained similarly as fast - Teth Adam (Dwayne Johnson) is freed from his natural burial place, prepared to unlease his wrath and vengeance to the modern world.

Dwayne Johnson was born to play the titular role. It took him at least fifteen years to bring Black Adam to the big screen. And although he doesn't have the hair or pointy ears of his character, he's got the attitude, presence, and tenacity of the villain/anti-hero.

It's great to see some members of the Justice Society of America make their cinematic debut. At first, I didn't see Aldis Hodge as Hawkman, because I always saw Carter Hall as a white male. But n the movie, he's the most ferocious warrior that will defend his beliefs and comrades. Pierce Brosnan is perfect as Dr. Fate. He brings gravitas to the role as one of the most powerful sorcerers in the universe. Noah Centineo as Atom Smasher and Quintessa Swindell as Cyclone represent the young heroes of the JSA. Both were under-utilized though. I don't mind seeing them again in another movie, with a better script. Marwan Kenzari as Sabbac is a very powerful villain, kinda generic too.

This comic-book movie is packed with action scenes, tons of CGI, some humor, and new set of superheroes. Overall it's a very entertaining comic-book movie. Just don't expect it to win an Oscar. Enjoy it for what it's worth.

And now it's time to talk about that mid-credits scene. I'm sure by now, most comic book fans know who's in it.  The audience at the Philippine premiere of BLACK ADAM screamed, cried, and cheered along with the fans. It's the most anticipated part of the movie, and it received the loudest reaction. I would watch it again even just for that few minutes of pure ecstasy. The future of DC is looking Bright and Breezy !
