Transformers: Rise of the Beasts is the latest installment in the popular Transformers franchise and it promises to be an epic action movie. The main focus of this movie is on the robots, giving us more screen time with them than ever before. The fight sequences here are easier on the eyes, unlike the previous movies where we get to see visual spectacles and mindless explosions. I'm not saying that in a negative way though.
We finally get to meet the Maximals, a new breed of robots that transform into animals, first seen in the animated tv series Beast Wars. Most notable of them are Optimus Primal (a Gorilla-bot voiced by Ron Perlman) and Airazor (an Eagle-bot voiced by Michelle Yeoh). They also have Chitor - a Cheetah; and Rhinox - a Rhinoceros Their character designs are aesthetically appealing.
Along with these robots, we also meet some humans who are likable enough for us to root for them. Noah Diaz played by Anthony Ramos, and Elena played by Dominique Fishback. I particularly enjoyed Noah's interaction with Mirage, a young autobot voiced by Pete Davidson. Most of his jokes worked, and everytime he is onscreen, he steals the show. Towards the end of the movie, something about the character of Noah was revealed, and it really got me excited for the future of the Transformers. This one was directed by Steven Caple Jr., who also helmed Creed II. With its intense action scenes and interesting characters, this movie promises to be an exciting one.
