K-Pop or P-Pop ? SB19 offers both in their breakout single "GO UP"

They look and sound like K-Pop, but they are actually all Filipino boys who are making their name in the music scene. Out of hundreds of hopefuls who auditioned to be part of this new boyband, five lucky ones - Sejun, Stell, Josh, Ken, & Justin, became final members of SB19. They flew to South Korea, and for more than three years, underwent intensive training in singing, dancing, songwriting, etc. They are the first Filipino group to be trained and managed by ShowBT Corp which is a Korean entertainment company.

Mr. George Seong Han who founded ShowBT Corporation in 2003, ventured out to the Philippines to establish ShowBT Philippines Corporations in 2015. SB in SB19 stands for Show Break meaning the group will break into the Philippine music scene. While 19 stands for a youthful age, and is also the bridge between South Korea (area code 82) and the Philippines (area code 63). 82 - 63, get it ?

Last week, SB19 was presented to the Philippine press. Their Korean manager and trainor were around to lend support. They performed their newest single "Go Up". The aim of the song is to inspire people, especially the young ones, to never give up on their dreams. It was composed and produced by Mr. Oh-won Lee (aka Jinjja Sanai), and lyrics by the group members. They also had to answer some personal and delicate questions which touched on their backgrounds, professional trainings, even their sexuality. The boys handled themselves very well in the Q&A portion.

SB19 has been doing the rounds, making guest performances, and doing interviews. Their song is easy on the ears, and very catchy.
They may look and sound like K-Pop, but they are definitely P-Pop (Pinoy Pop). Check out their videos on their YouTube channel - SB19 Official, and follow them on their social media accounts - facebook & twitter - SB19Official, and instagram - OfficialSB19. "Go Up" is now available on Spotify, Apple Music, Deezer, Amazon Music, Google Play Music, and other digital formats.
