Maria Laroco's Grand Album Launch "Just Maria"

Maria Laroco recently had her album launch - her 1st international album "Just Maria" under Odic Records, a record label in the USA. The cd has 10 songs and its carrier single is "Imagine" which is a love song. This is her breakthrough album since this has been her dream ever since.

Maria, who's full name is Maria Giedie Ocang Laroco, started early in the business. She was three years old when she started learning the songs of Sarah Geronimo and Yeng Constantino from the cds that her dad bought for her. She was five when she first joined a singing contest in which she sung "Listen" (by Beyoncé) and won second place. From then on, she joined more contests to hone her craft and to prepare her for the big leagues. She was seven when she joined a band and an orchestra.

Her first National Singing Contest was The Voice Kids Philippines Season 1 in 2014 when she was 13 years old. She was part of Coach Lea Salonga's team. She was also featured on the YouTube channel of Universal Records (Philippines) where she sung her version of Disney's "Beauty and The Beast" and "Hindi Ko Kaya" which is the theme song of a South Korean tv drama called " All About My Mum".

2018 was when she flew all the way to the United Kingdom to join X Factor UK. During her audition, she sung Prince's "Purple Rain" and  amazed all the four judges namely - Simon Cowell, Louie Tomlinson, Ayda Field, and Robbie Williams. She was given a standing ovation. Her journey continued until she was eliminated when the top 6 finalists were asked to sing in a judge's house in the USA. Laroco failed to get a visa to the U.S. because she applied for the wrong visa. (Visitor's visa instead of a Performer's visa.) Simon Cowell invited her to join again and Laroco said she is going to.

Maria also expressed her interest in joining the local showbiz as a singer and actress. She's still young and opportunities are just opening up for her. Here's wishing you all the best, Maria Laroco !
