Dune: Part Two acclaimed by critics as blockbuster masterpiece, debuting with a 97% Rotten Tomatoes critics’ score.

February 26, 2024 – Rave reviews are flowing in as critics praise Dune: Part Two, Denis Villeneuve’s highly anticipated action spectacle. With a 97% certified fresh rating on Rotten Tomatoes, the critics’ consensus is that Dune: Part Two is visually thrilling and narratively epic.

Continuing the streak from its predecessor, Dune: Part Two lands with a success for reviewers. The Independent writes, “Dune: Part Two, like its predecessor, is a work of total sensory and imaginative immersion.” Total Film adds the movie to the hall of beloved sequels, saying, “However you cut it, Villeneuve wrangles coherence from Herbert’s unruly elements to deliver a sequel that ranks alongside The Dark Knight, The Empire Strikes Back – and Blade Runner 2049.

The Guardian praises director Denis Villeneuve’s vision for the film, “The second part of Denis Villeneuve’s monumental Dune adaptation lands with a sternum-juddering crash; it’s another shroom of a film, an epic sci-fi hallucination whose images speak of fascism and imperialism, of guerrilla resistance and romance.”

Kudos also abound for the cast performance, with The New York Post lending focus to Timothée Chalamet’s performance as Paul Atreides. “But the series’ grounding force continues to be Chalamet. After singing and wisecracking as Willy Wonka, he’s back to his bread and butter: brooding and stoic contemplation. It’s in this second chapter, however, that we realize how perfect the actor is for Paul,” they write.

Rolling Stone also takes note of Chalamet’s take on the protagonist, saying, “But this act is also where you see Paul Atreides come into his own, and by extension, the actor who plays him. Part Two is where you see a boy having grown into a man, who then evolves into a reluctant — and eventually not-so-reluctant — savior.”

Not to be outdone, Zendaya’s performance as the warrior Chani was also a highlight of the film, with IGN writing, “The Fremen will need to be united to stand against the forces of the Imperium, and the sacrifices and compromises that Chani make constantly ground the story with help from Zendaya’s direct, steely performance.”

Watch the interstellar action rise to greater heights as Dune: Part Two arrives in Philippine cinemas on February 28.

After three death-defying adventures defeating world-class villains with his unmatched courage and mad martial arts skills, Po, the Dragon Warrior (Golden Globe nominee Jack Black), is called upon by destiny to… give it a rest already. More specifically, he’s tapped to become the Spiritual Leader of the Valley of Peace.

Before he can assume his new position (of which Po knows nothing about), he must first find and train a new Dragon Warrior. But a wicked, powerful sorceress, Chameleon (Oscar® winner Viola Davis), a tiny lizard who can shapeshift into any creature, has her greedy, beady little eyes on Po’s Staff of Wisdom, which would give her the power to re-summon all the master villains whom Po has vanquished to the spirit realm.

To stop Chameleon, Po finds help in the form of crafty, quick-witted thief Zhen (Golden Globe winner Awkwafina), a corsac fox who really gets under Po’s fur but whose skills will prove invaluable. In their quest to protect the Valley of Peace from Chameleon’s reptilian claws, this comedic odd-couple duo will have to work together. In the process, Po will discover that heroes can be found in the most unexpected places.

The film features the voice talent of returning stars Academy Award® winner Dustin Hoffman as Kung Fu master, Shifu; James Hong (Everything Everywhere All at Once) as Po’s adoptive father, Mr. Ping; Emmy Award winner Bryan Cranston as Po’s birth father, Li; and Emmy Award nominee Ian McShane as Tai Lung, Shifu’s former student and arch-nemesis. Oscar® winner Ke Huy Quan (Everything Everywhere All at Once) joins the ensemble as a new character, Han, the leader of the Den of Thieves.

A must-watch for the entire family, Kung Fu Panda 4 opens in Philippine cinemas March 6. #KungFuPanda4Ph

#TeamGalaxy raves about the AI features of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Series

Samsung unveiled the first of its kind, revolutionary Galaxy AI devices - and content creators can’t stop talking about it!  From AI features that make notetaking easy to editing tools that make it effortless to get that perfect shot, get to know why #TeamGalaxy loves the new Galaxy S24 Series.

Janine Gutierrez: Intuitive AI-enhanced camera features anytime and anywhere

For actress and content creator Janine Gutierrez, the Circle to Search with Google feature of the Galaxy S24 Series caught her eye. “It’s very useful for traveling and shopping and things like that. Super ganda I was able to test it out and when we went to Unpacked in California, I can't imagine life without it anymore. It solves so many problems, like when you want to learn more about certain things - before, you have to manually search for it, and it's a hit and miss,” she shared.

The Galaxy S24 Series devices host a smart AI enhanced camera. With this comes the intuitive Circle to Search with Google feature where users can encircle objects from photos in their gallery and the device will automatically show information about the object. Search results will include suggestions on the nature of the item, its brand, where to buy it, and more.

Catriona Gray: A powerful device for a multi-hyphenate Queen

Being a multi-hyphenate productive queen, Catriona Gray lives an on-the-go lifestyle wearing multiple crowns. Some of her favorite things about the Galaxy S24 Ultra are the new AI-enhanced features on the Samsung notes app and the new sleek S-pen.

Catriona can easily create idea boards, inspiration pegs, and even jot down a quick note. “I take down notes for everything- it helps me process information and keep it to refer to later. I love the integration of an S-Pen, it allows the accessibility of when you want to write down [notes], it gives an old school feel, like if you're not a typer, you're a writer, which I am,” she shared.

The Galaxy S24 Ultra is now her new productivity tool but she believes it makes a great fit for everyone, “There are so many different functions, no matter who you are, if your goal is productivity, gaming, communication, content creation, video editing, the S24 Series are all well-rounded devices, fit for any type of lifestyle.”

Bianca Gonzalez: Superior AI capabilities and support for writers

Television host and writer Bianca Gonzalez has a passion for writing and content creation, which are often fueled by a good conversation. She praised the built-in live transcription feature within the Galaxy S24 Series’ voice recording application, along with its AI summarizing feature, which made the perfect tandem to increase her productivity to the maximum level.

“As writers, if you have a 20-minute interview you would transcribe it in an hour, it’s such a time sucker!” Bianca shared. “When I found this feature in the phone, within your voice recorder app, I was like ‘what? Where has this been all my life?’ And it goes hand in hand with the AI summarizing feature. Summarizing long articles into bullet points is very helpful when it comes to research for a piece you're gonna write.”

Jaz Reyes: A Revolutionary phone

For Jaz Reyes, as a digital creator, filmmaker and host, the Galaxy S24 is a revolutionary device that sets a high standard for mobile devices. Jaz likened her experience with the Galaxy S24 Series to the first time she experienced having her own phone.

Her fast-paced life always has her pursuing her passions actively and the Galaxy S24 Series is a perfect match because, as she put it, “The apps I use on the laptop to edit my photos, it's all there on my phone already built in and I don't have to download any other app, and that's amazing on its own,” she shared.

Dune: Part Two picks up right when the first movie ended, and for Timothée Chalamet, who plays the main character Paul Atreides, going back into the expansive world was a dream. “It was a dream to return to the world of ‘Dune,’ not only returning to castmates I had a beautiful working  experience with the first time, but also getting to see their characters expand, like Chani. And getting to  work with new, super-talented actors, like Austin Butler, and Florence Pugh, who I’d done a film with  before. And of course getting to see Denis bring his full vision to life,” Chalamet says.

Zendaya, who plays the Fremen warrior Chani, also felt the scale and excitement of continuing the journey of Dune. “I only had a few days of filming on ‘Dune,’ so I was excited to come back and have a chance to explore so  much more of Chani. Filming ‘Dune: Part Two’ absolutely surpassed any kind of dream I could’ve ever  had. Being on those sets, with those incredibly talented people in every department… I was in awe.”

New characters join the fight for Arrakis as Austin Butler and Florence Pugh, playing Feyd-Rautha Harkonnen and Princess Irulan, respectively, round out the cast of Dune: Part Two. Butler, having read the novel as a teen, is a massive fan of the first film.  “The first time I watched it I had the same feelings I felt when I saw ‘Apocalypse Now’ for the first time. I  knew right then that I wanted to be a part of the next one. So, I feel very fortunate,” Butler says. Pugh also shares her experience in becoming part of the film. “It was quite possibly the most thrilling welcome to a world I think I have ever experienced, and probably  ever will experience,” she says, talking about how much she wanted to get involved with the film. “If Denis told me I could be Spear Carrier #3, I’d have said yes, just to experience the entire beast of this movie. Joining the cast as epic as this is always something that you want to get involved with.”

Continue the epic journey as Dune: Part Two arrives in Philippine cinemas on February 28.

Everyone’s feeling the love as “Bob Marley: One Love” opens globally at No. 1 with $80-M, arrives in PH March 13

February 19, 2023 – Bob Marley: One Love, a film celebrating the legendary reggae musician, opened at No. 1 across several countries worldwide with an estimated gross of $80-million, including $51-million in North America.  The movie broke the record for biggest opening day for a music biopic in several markets, including the UK, New Zealand, and Jamaica, where the film boasts the biggest opening day for a movie ever.

Arriving in Philippine cinemas on March 13, Bob Marley: One Love was made with close guidance and blessing of the Marley family, with two of Marley’s children – Ziggy and Cedella – and his wife, musician Rita Marley, at the helm as producers. Alongside them are executive producers Brad Pitt, Richard Hewitt, Orly Marley, and Matt Solodky, who assembled a cast that’s led by Kingsley Ben-Adir and Lashana Lynch as Bob and Rita Marley.

Watch Ziggy Marley talk about his father in this featurette: https://youtu.be/dK799Hs15ww

Director and co-writer Reinaldo Marcus Green acknowledges the scale and responsibility of creating a movie based on the icon. “There are films,” says Green. “And then there are films about Bob Marley.” During the process of making Bob Marley: One Love, Green says people always have a story to tell about the musician.  “He had that power. He was everyone’s best friend, you know? ‘I saw him in concert...’ Or, ‘He changed my life when I was 15…’ People think they know Bob Marley, have a version of him in their mind, because of how we all connect with his music.”

With this film, Green hopes to give the audience a side of Bob Marley that not a lot of people have seen, based on real conversations with friends, family, and acquaintances. The authenticity that Bob Marley: One Love delivers is the direct result of collaborating so closely with the musician’s loved ones.

The result is a powerful snapshot of a legend whose calls for peace and togetherness made him a target. A man with faults and challenges like any other, but a force for change that did good for his family, friends, and the world.
