Meet the cast of the thrilling zombie apocalypse movie “Love You as the World Ends”

Watch the trailer

Kamen Rider stars Takeuchi Ryoma and Takahashi Fumiya are Hibiki and Yamato in the dystopian zombie film Love You as the World Ends. Based on the hit  horror-television series co-produced by Nippon TV and Hulu Japan, Love You As The World Ends ties in all the intertwining stories of a group of survivors trying to stay alive during a zombie outbreak.

Takeuchi Ryoma plays the lead role as Hibiki, a mechanic before the world was plunged into chaos. Hibiki was about to propose to his partner, Kurumi, when the deadly Golem outbreak began. Fighting for survival, Kurumi tragically succumbs to the Golem virus, but miraculously gives birth to their child, Mirai. Mirai’s unusual childbirth piques the interest of researchers who are looking for the cure to the Golem virus, and kidnaps, hoping to further their cause. Hibiki must now climb up Utopia, a refuge from the Golems, to get to the researchers and save his child.

Most notable for playing main character Shinnosuke Tomari of the Kamen Rider series, Kamen Rider Drive, Takeuchi Ryoma has been Hibiki for the Love You as the World Ends series for 4 seasons. He’s also cast as Miyabe Arata in Roppongi Class, a remake of the hit K-drama series Itaewon Class.

Takahashi Fumiya plays the second protagonist, Yamato, who came across Hibiki by chance when his car broke down while on a date with the girl he wants to be in a relationship with, Aoi. The pair will meet again as fate brings them together on a quest to find and rescue their loved ones. Aoi is up in the top level of Utopia, where the researchers are secluded, her fate unknown to Yamato. As they face unknown dangers higher up in Utopia, Yamato and Hibiki form a tenuous alliance to increase their chances of successfully getting to the top.

In 2019, Takahashi Fumiya was the first Kamen Rider actor to be cast who was born in the 21st century, playing the protagonist role in Kamen Rider Zero-One. Consistently getting roles in TV drama series, he bagged the lead role for the prime time drama for the first time as Kitada Gaku in Fermat no Ryōri.

Watch them take the ultimate journey as Love You As The World Ends opens in PH cinemas on June 12, an Encore Films film distributed by Warner Bros.

As Intense As Mad Max , FURIOSA Shows Them What She's Made Of

By : Edgar Allan E. Yu

The highly anticipated #FURIOSA movie delivers a captivating origin story that delves deep into the making of one of the most iconic female action heroes in modern cinema. Alyla Brown and Anya Taylor-Joy both deliver outstanding performances, seamlessly portraying the fierce warrior Furiosa at different stages of her life.

Beyond the movie's trademark high-octane action sequences and breathtaking cinematography, the real strength lies in the detailed narrative that shapes Furiosa's journey. This is not just mindless mayhem on the road, but a rich character study that explores the formative experiences that molded her into the resilient, uncompromising figure we met in Mad Max: Fury Road.

The production design is nothing short of exquisite, immersing viewers in a gritty, post-apocalyptic world that feels both alien and disturbingly plausible. Fans of the Mad Max franchise will undoubtedly find much to savor in this prequel, which serves as a powerful and compelling addition to the mythos.

Written and Directed by the mastermind, George Miller, who helmed all the Mad Max movies in the past.  #FURIOSA is a must-see for anyone who appreciates masterful storytelling, exceptional performances, and the kind of cinematic spectacle that leaves a lasting impression. This is a film that solidifies Furiosa's status as one of the great action heroines of our time.

The forest has secrets. Writer-director Ishana Night Shyamalan dabbles in Irish folklore with “The Watchers”

“It felt like an unending pool of inspiration to draw from—that’s the dream as both a writer and director.” Ishana Shyamalan was riveted by A.M. Shine’s novel, The Watchers as she was searching for inspiration for her first feature film. Now The Watchers has been transformed into an enthralling horror-thriller, based on the novel and starring Dakota Fanning.

Watch the new trailer: https://youtu.be/h2XVGwLXQlE

Producer M. Night Shyamalan says that the book and Ishana were a perfect pair as far as adaptations go. “Ishana—who wrote a lot of the episodes of ‘Servant’ and directed several of them—has a fantasy bent in her interests. ‘The Watchers’ is an amazing book for her to adapt. She read it and fell in love, and wanted to both write and direct it. It was a very wonderful, organic way that it came about.”

The production wanted to lean into the Irish folklore aspect of the novel, and the whole atmosphere that comes with it. “I think our basis was A.M. Shine’s inspiration and expertise in Irish folklore, which really informed and excited all of us—he was referencing ancient storytellers. We were taking his knowledge and then making it a contemporary thriller,” M. Night explains. “It was lovely to learn the origins were really in Ireland, with the kind of dark insinuations in them—I think the beautiful part about the Grimms’ fairy tales is the darkness underneath it.”

Through the darker and more intense aspects of “The Watchers,” the theme of womanhood and family are intertwined throughout the story. “As a young woman, it’s kind of inevitable that the ideas of femininity, womanhood and motherhood are imbued into the things that I write. And that very much became the center of the story, which to me is a mother/daughter story between the characters of Madeline and Mina,” Ishana says. “But this is not just for a female audience; it feels very muscular, bold, fearsome and strong. All the women in this film are all of those things. They're very powerful. I hope it transcends stereotypes a bit.”

Though set in a very specific corner of the world, Ishana hopes to build a universal story that audiences can relate to. “There are family dynamics and human relationships at the center of everything. In the film, they’re really a family. Despite the fantasy, thriller and horror elements, and everything around them, I think it’s really about how people relate to each other and how to find a way to be connected in a world that's really tough to be connected in.”

Watch as the mystery unravels as “The Watchers” opens in Philippine cinemas on June 12.

GARFIELD CREATOR JIM DAVIS TALKS ABOUT CHRIS PRATT AS THE VOICE BEHIND HIS BELOVED CHARACTER IN “THE GARFIELD MOVIE,” IN CINEMAS MAY 29

“The Garfield Movie”

Garfield creator Jim Davis admits he was bowled over by Chris Pratt as the voice behind the beloved Monday-hating, lasagna-loving indoor cat in The Garfield Movie

“Chris has great attitude in his voice and incredible timing,” says Davis. “I rate him a ten for funny. And one of the things he does is really bring the Garfield edge and attitude to the character, and so he really understood the character and absolutely nailed him. He’s great to listen to. You can sit back immediately and go, ‘Yeah, that’s Garfield.’”

In The Garfield Movie, the world-famous Garfield is about to have a wild outdoor adventure! After an unexpected reunion with his long-lost father (Samuel L. Jackson) – scruffy street cat Vic – Garfield and his canine friend Odie (Harvey Guillén) are forced from their perfectly pampered life into joining Vic in a hilarious, high-stakes heist.

Watch the trailer: https://youtu.be/HnGusjY49-A

After nearly 50 years of comic strip stardom and hilarious TV specials, The Garfield Movie brings together everything that audiences love about Garfield – plus a few things they never knew. For his part, Davis, who is one of the film’s executive producers, says he was thrilled to see an animated film break Garfield out of his three-panel confines. “It goes without saying that Garfield gets out and around more in animation. Otherwise, why animate him?” says the character’s creator. “Garfield has the same personality in both mediums. However, since animation is more than three frames, Garfield must get involved with a plot demanding that he leave his bed… In animation, you have the luxury of time to tell the story, plus you get to use music, sound effects, and audible dialog to execute the gags and drive the story.”

Davis says that he created the character to stand in contrast with the many dogs that were ruling the comics page at the time. “I saw a lot of dogs doing very well – Snoopy, Marmaduke, Fred Basset, you name it,” he says. “But there were no cats at the time. And I grew up on a farm with about 25 cats on average, and so I knew and loved cats. I thought, ‘Well, if dogs are doing that well, maybe I could use a cat.’ Cats are kind of standoffish – you know where your dog stands, but cats are aloof.”

Because of that, he says, “it’s natural to attribute human thoughts and feelings to cats. Garfield is a human being in a cat suit.” Indeed, Davis says that Garfield’s staying power comes in the fact that his millions of fans recognize themselves in his foibles. Cats – they’re just like us! “I hold a mirror to the reader and show them back with a humorous twist,” says Davis. “We’re made to feel guilty for overeating, not exercising, and oversleeping. Garfield relieves our guilt by enjoying all of those things.”

“Garfield's frustrations are universal,” agrees director Mark Dindal, who helms our lazy and sarcastic hero’s first fully animated big-screen adventure. “He reminds people of their childhoods. The visual humor will always play. You can find Garfield comics from 15, 20, 30 years ago, and they don’t feel dated because they’re never really rooted in something specific to that time period.”

Says producer John Cohen, “It’s such an honor that Jim Davis entrusted us to be custodians of his creation – there’s nothing that has made me happier than to hear his joy and enthusiastic reactions to the film over the course of production.”

Join Garfield and his friends on their crazy adventure when The Garfield Movie, from Columbia Pictures, local office of Sony Pictures Releasing International, opens in cinemas May 29. #GarfieldMovie
