PRESS RELEASE
In celebration of its 10th anniversary, global award-winning communications group COMCO Mundo League of Enterprises rolled out Citizen COMCO in full force through the inaugural Camp COMCO Kids at Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas, Inc., welcoming its first batch of learners.
Citizen COMCO, COMCO Mundo’s advocacy arm, champions advocacy work for youth and education; wildlife and environment; heritage and culture; social enterprise; and borderless collaboration. Strengthening its advocacy for youth and education is Camp COMCO Kids, a learning camp for children developed in collaboration with COMCO School of Communications’ Camp COMCO Mentorship Program, its flagship talent incubation initiative, industry linkage course, and apprenticeship program. It carries the same values-driven approach in molding the next generation of storytellers, redesigned for younger learners.
Built on a three-pronged approach, Camp COMCO Kids expands its impact through Camp COMCO Kids Special, designed for community-based engagement; Camp COMCO Kids Prime, a full workshop experience where children can become “COMCOys for a day”; and Camp COMCO Kids Edutainment Content, which delivers fun and educational materials tailored for young audiences.
Citizen COMCO recently held its first-ever Camp COMCO Kids Special at Asociacion de Damas de Filipinas, Inc., a community extension facility in Paco, Manila that nurtures abandoned, neglected, and vulnerable children with love and quality care. Currently, the organization supports community children aged 2 to 14 through milk and supplemental feeding programs, outreach initiatives, apostolate activities, and meaningful community celebrations.
The day featured a series of fun and meaningful activities aligned with the mission of Camp COMCO Kids: to help children develop creativity, communication, teamwork, and social awareness through engaging, age-appropriate activities centered on storytelling, media literacy, and community values. Adapted from the Camp COMCO approach, the children were grouped into four houses, namely House Bearcat, House Flying Fox, House Whale Shark, and House Hawksbill, fostering teamwork and collaboration throughout the program.
Each house was brought to life by the Camp COMCO Kids characters, embodying a diverse range of interests. Bobby the Bearcat thrives in sports and outdoor adventures; Farrah the Flying Fox brings a passion for music, theater, and dance; Howie the Hawksbill explores tech, games, crafts, and creations; and Wilma the Whale Shark is driven by a love for creative writing and visual arts.

With the support and guidance of members of Camp COMCO Alumni Society and the COMCO Squadron, the team created a lively and engaging space for learning. Through fun, interactive session and meaningful discussion on important Filipino values, children were encouraged to grow into responsible and caring members of their families, schools, communities, and country.
A key highlight of the camp was the role-playing activity, where participants were introduced to basic acting skills and tasked with creatively acting out scenarios anchored in Filipino values. With the help of their house stewards, assistant stewards and guest stewards from Camp COMCO Alumni Society, the children showcased enthusiasm and creativity, bringing their lessons to life.
The energy continued with lively games such as the Calamansi Relay and the classic Filipino game tumbang preso (Knock Down the Prisoner), filling the space with cheers and excitement. Winners and participants alike were rewarded with prizes, making the experience even more memorable for everyone.
“I would like to thank everyone for being part of Camp COMCO Kids,” said COMCO Mundo Interregional President & Group Chief Executive and Head of Global & Strategic Communications / Partner & Co-Founder, Mr. Ferdinand Bondoy. “This is our first Camp COMCO Kids, and you are our very first batch. We’re excited to see how you grow and hope to see you become storytellers like us in COMCO Mundo one day,” he said.
Citizen COMCO has also long been at the forefront of advocacy, spearheading initiatives that create meaningful impact. Through programs such as COMCOlidays with Kids, it brings joy and holiday cheer to underserved communities, while also extending support during challenging times through outreach efforts for typhoon and earthquake victims and during the COVID-19 pandemic. Over the years, Citizen COMCO has partnered with like-minded organizations such as Called to Rescue, Make-A-Wish, Philippine Eagle Foundation, Save the Children, SOS Chidlren’s Villages, World Vision, and WWF. It also champions Filipino identity through language, history, and culture through its multimedia platform, Baybayin HARIYANAS (Haring Bayang PILIPINAS – PInagbuklod ng Liping NAgtaguyod sa Siniliangan - a nation formed by the people who fought for the homeland). This year, it continues its mission with the launch of For Tribe to Thrive, a social impact initiative aimed at uplifting and empowering indigenous communities across the Philippines.
As COMCO Mundo continues to explore new horizons in its 10th year, its commitment remains clear: to support communities and help shape a better future for the next generation.
Camp COMCO Kids is just the beginning.
