BGC Pinoy Playlist Musikahan 2026: A New Way to Celebrate Music Together on October 17-18

MANILA, Philippines – 16 September 2026 – A new major twist to music celebrations is coming to Bonifacio Global City as BGC Pinoy Playlist Musikahan (PPM) 2026 takes place on October 17 and 18, 2026, bringing Filipino artists, music lovers, families, friends, and communities together for two days of performances, experiences, and collective music-making.

Under the spirit of “Musikahan,” the two-day celebration will explore the many ways Filipinos experience, share, and make music together. From harmonizing with a group and singing songs through a reimagined karaoke session, to serenading (“harana”) special person/s and creating music through interactive activities, PPM 2026 celebrates how music can bring people together and connect us to different aspects of our lives.

A Musikahan Made for Everyone

PPM 2026 will feature a series of especially curated musical experiences designed to encourage participation and showcase the evolving musicality of Filipinos.

Before the main event, On Cue, an online live music and storytelling series will allow audiences to hear artists perform their songs and share their personal stories and experiences in music-making with a twist of a popular Pinoy game, Tumbang Preso. The series will air on BGC Arts Center’s social media channels and will be available to stream for free.

Bringing music beyond the festival venue, Harana on the BGC Bus will surprise commuters with a special live serenade from a featured artist aboard a regular BGC Bus route.

During the two-day celebration, audiences can experience a variety of programs that celebrate Pinoy music and honor artists who have contributed to the Philippine music scene.

From Pinoy Playlist Conversations where speakers will share stories, insights, and their expertise about relevant topics in music; Special performances from beloved Pinoy performers and rising artists; SALINAWIT performances where we can breathe new life to foreign songs as translated to our native languages; Music-Making Zone where attendees can unleash their creativity through various interactive music experiences; to Modern Harana where you can have artist serenade a special person/s at special spots in BGC.

PPM 2026 will also recognize the excellent life-long work of Pinoy musical figures through the Ryan Cayabyab Awards. This year’s awardees are Dr. Grace Nono, Prof. Chino Toledo, and Noel Cabangon.

On Saturday, October 17, witness how individual voices can come together as one through One-Day Choir. In partnership with DIWA Singing Club, facilitated by Toma Cayabyab and Irvs Redor, this offers a new experience to unleash voices and meet new people who share their interest in music.

On Sunday, October 18, sing your heart out in Community Karaoke, where participants can sing along with a live show band playing favorite songs from a curated and voted list of Original Pilipino Music.

Experience these two unique experiences with the Special Highlight Event Bundle tickets.

At its core, PPM 2026 celebrates how Filipino musicality extends far beyond the concert stage. It lives in karaoke sessions, family gatherings, spontaneous sing-alongs, jam sessions, serenades, and everyday moments shared with friends and loved ones.

RESIDENT EVIL review: A well-crafted horror survival movie. The best Resident Evil movie so far!

 By: Edgar Allan E. Yu

This film is a stand-alone reboot of the #ResidentEvil franchise. It is neither an adaptation of any of the video games nor a continuation of the previous movies, but it is set firmly within the world of Resident Evil. Directed and co-written by Zach Cregger, the movie presents a straightforward story centered on a new character named Bryan, a regular guy who works making medical deliveries and finds himself trapped in Raccoon City. Austin Abrams, who portrays Bryan, carries the film with a compelling and relatable performance, making him the focal point of the narrative.

What sets this movie apart is how it immerses viewers in Bryan’s experience. Through clever use of camera angles—often showing the lead character’s point of view or over-the-shoulder shots—the audience feels as if they are inside the video game themselves, facing the same dangers and challenges as Bryan. The film balances plenty of scares with moments of humor, creating an engaging and entertaining horror survival experience.

Overall, this Resident Evil reboot is a well-crafted horror survival movie that stands out as the best Resident Evil film to date. It is an exciting watch, especially with friends or co-workers . It is currently playing in 🇵🇭 cinemas, and soon in other areas. Special thanks goes to @columbiapicph for the invites to experience this thrilling film firsthand.

COLUMBIA PICTURES Zach Cregger is inspired by the original video games as he creates his own terrifying world in “Resident Evil” In PH cinemas Sept. 16

Teeth, tentacles, blood, and other horrors follow as the infected wreak havoc in the world of Resident Evil. Director Zach Cregger, along with his co-screenwriter Shay Hatten, and creature effects supervisor Shane Mahan came up with brand new creatures to roam around the environment. “Everything had to have a shock value and a sense of realism to play against the humor,” says Hatten.

Cregger also gave a nod to the games in creating the environment, inspired by his own experience in playing them. “If you've played the games a ton, you won't be able to help but notice some of the healing spray cans and some of the green herbs,” says Cregger.

In Resident Evil, medical courier Bryan (Austin Abrams) is tasked with transporting a package to Raccoon City. As he is going through his route, the night devolves, and zombies overrun the streets in a terrifying night of mayhem and destruction.

Another homage to the Resident Evil video games is the point of view Cregger decides to give the audience. “We are locked over Bryan’s shoulder because I'm really interested in honoring that video game language,” Cregger explains. “And with the games, you really are perched on the shoulder of someone. So, if Bryan is walking through a corridor, we're mostly behind him. When he looks left, we swing over to see what he's looking at. If he looks right, we kind of swing this way.”

Actor Austin Abrams comments that the world Cregger built is ramping up to be a great cinematic experience. “There’s a non-stop kind of energy to Resident Evil,” says Abrams, “and because it has both horror and comedic elements, you want to experience the film with others. You want to hear the reactions and the energy of those around you, who are screaming or laughing, or both.”

All of this is a labor of love as Cregger himself is a devoted fan, and he hopes that the fanbase, as well as new audiences are excited to see a brand new story set in an iconic world. “Going to see a horror movie in a theatre is a communal experience, and therefore you're tapping into an energy that makes the experience greater than it would be if you're sitting on your couch doing it all by yourself,” says the filmmaker. “And to be able to go on that roller coaster ride with a roomful of strangers, it just it makes the ride more fun.”

Resident Evil unleashes horror in Philippine cinemas, including IMAX, on September 16.

Filipino tech-voc graduates can now showcase verified TESDA certifications through Jobstreet’s SEEK Pass

 PRESS RELEASE

(L-R: Mr. Joey Yusingco, Head of Country Marketing, Philippines; Ms. Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director, Philippines; Secretary Kiko Benitez,

TESDA Director General; Atty. Allan Chester Nadate, Deputy Director General for Finance and Legal Affairs, TESDA)

TAGUIG CITY, Philippines —Jobstreet by SEEK and the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) are strengthening their partnership to help technical-vocational graduates better demonstrate their skills to prospective employers. Through the integration of the TESDA Skills Passport with SEEK Pass, Jobstreet’s digital credential verification platform, graduates can now display verified TESDA certifications directly on their Jobstreet profile.

Formalized through a ceremonial signing at the TESDA Central Office in Taguig City, the partnership enables TESDA graduates and alumni to verify and share eligible credentials from their TESDA Skills Passport to SEEK Pass. The initiative aims to increase the labor-market visibility of TESDA-issued certifications, helping graduates with these technical-vocational qualifications stand out in a competitive hiring environment.

Once verified, these credentials can appear on a candidate’s Jobstreet profile with a verified badge. Employers can then have a clearer, more trustworthy view of a candidate’s training and qualifications at a glance.

“This partnership serves as another bridge for TESDA graduates as they go from Training to Trabaho. With their TESDA credentials, tech-voc graduates find a pathway toward impactful careers. And being able to showcase these credentials through SEEK Pass and Jobstreet gives them a much-needed boost,” said Secretary Kiko Benitez, TESDA Director General.

“Technical-vocational education equips Filipinos with practical skills that can open doors to meaningful employment. By making these credentials more visible and verifiable at the start of the hiring journey, we are helping TESDA graduates better demonstrate what they can do while giving employers greater confidence in the skills they are looking for,” said Dannah Majarocon, Managing Director, Jobstreet by SEEK Philippines.

For graduates and workers, SEEK Pass provides a more trusted and convenient way to present qualifications as verifiable credentials that complement their job applications. For employers, verified credentials provide greater confidence in the authenticity of a candidate’s training credentials and make it easier to identify applicants with relevant technical and vocational backgrounds.

Over the years, Jobstreet by SEEK and TESDA have collaborated on initiatives that help equip Filipino learners and workers with the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to navigate the world of work. In 2024, Jobstreet by SEEK conducted several Training sessions for TESDA graduates. In 2025, the company delivered Career Readiness Training during TESDA’s WorldSkills ASEAN 2025 week at the World Trade Center, further demonstrating its commitment to supporting TESDA graduates as they prepare for employment.

Through this latest partnership with TESDA, Jobstreet by SEEK is continuing its commitment to empowering Filipino jobseekers with a trusted platform that enables better employment outcomes.
