THE BINGE LIST: EIGHT GRIPPING STAR WARS SHOWS TO CATCH ON DISNEY+ FROM NOVEMBER 17

From the mind of visionary writer/director George Lucas, the epic space fantasy Star Wars introduced the mystical Force into the world’s cultural vocabulary, as well as iconic characters such as Darth Vader, Luke Skywalker, Princess Leia, Han Solo and Obi-Wan Kenobi since its debut in 1977.

The rousing "space opera" is equal parts fairy tale, western, movie serial and spectacle, with roots in mythologies from cultures around the world. Get ready to dive into the Star Wars universe with these eight Disney+ Originals starting November 17.

  1. Obi-Wan Kenobi

“Obi-Wan Kenobi” begins 10 years after the dramatic events of “Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith” where Obi-Wan Kenobi faced his greatest defeat—the downfall and corruption of his best friend and Jedi apprentice, Anakin Skywalker, who turned to the dark side as evil Sith Lord Darth Vader.

  1. Andor

The “Andor” series explores a new perspective from the Star Wars galaxy, focusing on Cassian Andor’s journey to discover the difference he can make. The series brings forward the tale of the burgeoning rebellion against the Empire and how people and planets became involved. It is an era filled with danger, deception and intrigue where Cassian will embark on the path that is destined to turn him into a rebel hero.

  1. The Mandolarian

After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Wars universe. “The Mandalorian” is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.

  1. The Book of Boba Fett

“The Book of Boba Fett,” a thrilling Star Wars adventure teased in a surprise end-credit sequence following the Season 2 finale of “The Mandalorian,” finds legendary bounty hunter Boba Fett and mercenary Fennec Shand navigating the galaxy’s underworld when they return to the sands of Tatooine to stake their claim on the territory once ruled by Jabba the Hutt and his crime syndicate.

  1. Star Wars: The Bad Batch

“Star Wars: The Bad Batch” follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in “The Clone Wars”) as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch—a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army— each possess a singular exceptional skill that makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew.

  1. Light & Magic

Granted unparalleled access, Academy Award®-nominated filmmaker Lawrence Kasdan takes viewers on an adventure behind the curtain of Industrial Light & Magic, the special visual effects, animation and virtual production division of Lucasfilm. Learn about the pioneers of modern filmmaking—whose work inspired the entire industry of visual effects—as we go on a journey to see George Lucas' vision brought to life.

  1. Star Wars: Tales of the Jedi

Based on Star Wars and characters created by George Lucas, the series is set during the prequel era and spotlights important moments in the lives of fan-favorite characters Ahsoka Tano and Jedi-turned-Sith Lord Count Dooku as they embark on respective paths toward heroism and villainy. Stream the Tales of the Jedi from 26th October 2022 on Disney+.

  1. Star Wars: Visions

Seven Japanese anime studios bring their unique talent and perspective to “Star Wars: Visions”—a collection of animated short films that will stream exclusively on Disney+. As a first formal venture into anime, each “Star Wars: Visions” short bears a unique Japanese sensibility, which in many ways aligns with the tone and spirit of Star Wars storytelling. From the beginning, stories told in the Star Wars galaxy have counted Japanese mythology and the films of Akira Kurosawa among their many influences, and these new visions will further explore that cultural heritage through the unique animation style and perspective of each anime studio.

Besides these Star Wars shows, fans in the Philippines can look forward to a variety of original feature-length films, live-action and animated series, short-form content and documentaries from Hollywood to Hallyu including our iconic brands Disney, Marvel, Pixar, National Geographic and Star.
