“GODZILLA X KONG: THE NEW EMPIRE” SMASHES ITS WAY TO THE TOP AS 2024’S BIGGEST MOVIE IN THE PH

April 24, 2024– Titans reign as “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” has been the #1 movie in the Philippines since its release last March. The epic monster film is also the first and only movie of 2024 to reach past P100-M in the box office, taking the top spot for 4 consecutive weeks.


This along with the strong performance of Denis Villeneuve’s “Dune: Part Two”, marks Warner Bros. as the first studio to cross the $1 billion milestone for 2024. “Dune: Part Two” nears $700M globally, with “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” currently having a worldwide gross of $485M.


A team-up for the ages, “Godzilla x Kong: The New Empire” introduces a new threat to Hollow Earth: the villainous Skar King. Only the combined forces of the fearsome Godzilla and the massive Kong can hope to defeat Skar King and save mankind. Returning to helm the project from “Godzilla vs. Kong” is director Adam Wingard, and it stars Rebecca Hall, Bryan Tyree Henry, and Dan Stevens.
